Saphere uses facial video data to detect blood flow and infer physiological parameters without the need for traditional medical devices. This technology provides health insights in real-time or from recorded videos.
What is Saphere Scan?
Saphere Scan is our web-based component that enables live video selfie measurements directly from a browser or webview. It uses the device’s front-facing camera to perform physiological analysis in real-time, offering instant results with a frictionless user experience. It can be easily embedded in your platform with just a few lines of code.
What is Saphere Core?
Saphere Core is the backend engine behind the scenes. It houses all the API services and scientific algorithms responsible for:
- Images and signal analysis
- Data validation
- Result generation
Saphere Core ensures all incoming data is securely handled and processed with high reliability.
Measurement Performance
We have conducted clinical validations and scientific studies to ensure our results are accurate and trustworthy:

Available Metrics
- Heart Rate (hr)
- Respiratory Rate (br)
- Heart Rate Variability (hrv)
- Stress Level (strs)
- High Blood Pressure Risk (bpClass)
- Visual Age (physicalAge)
- BMI (faceBmi)
- Cardiovascular Health Score (healthScore)
Metrics Dependencies Overview
Saphere computes multiple physiological and derived metrics using different sources:
- Facial video streams (live or recorded)
- Face images (for select metrics such as BMI)
- User-provided data (e.g. weight, height, age, smoking status)
The combination of these inputs enables both real-time and asynchronous health assessments. These metrics may also require additional input data (userData), such as age or body measurements.
The table below summarizes where each metric is available and whether it depends on additional user data:

Key Benefits
- No hardware required
- Works with webcams and mobile cameras
- Easily embeddable in existing apps
